ESTL offers a complementary package of specialised products and services to
industry and institutions, including:
· Tribology: Providing tribological data, analysis, investigations and
consultancy
· Test: Over 30 years experience of thermal vacuum testing a wide range of
components and mechanisms
· Lubrication: A complete range of space-approved solid and liquid
lubrication solutions
· Mechanisms: Design support, component and subassembly build, niche
mechanism components and systems (e.g. Bearing Active Preload System – BAPS)
· Technology transfer: Space-developed solutions for ground-based
systems operating in vacuum
Since 1972 ESTL has been involved in some way in virtually every major European
spacecraft programme. Over this time, ESTL has lubricated and assembled over
3,500 spacecraft components and tested over 260 spacecraft mechanisms.
Recent programmes in which ESTL has been involved include Cassini-Huygens,
MSG-2, MetOp, BepiColombo, GIOVE A, ATV, CFESat and RapidEye
